My Biggest Cheerleader

One of the most supportive people in my life is Nat Campbell.  She may not have supported me in my childhood, but certainly in my 30’s as I was pursuing my Associates and finally my Bachelors degree.  As my college professor, she raised the bar so high and knew I could reach the goals without any hesitation.  It is because of her I am able to be the leader that I am today.  I am not afraid of working hard and standing in the leadership role.  If I had met her earlier in life I might have accomplished much more out of life.

I feel as if I was also able to give back to her and support her in a way she needed it.  Her father passed away suddenly in a kayaking accident and I arranged some of her favorite students to come and support her with love and conversation.  It is because of that she gifted me with a leather bracelet that has supportive phrases and sayings on it.  I will never forget her.  It was because of my college experience with her I also gained a life long friend.

Early Childhood Inspiration - my support person

A very special person

Another super supporter in my life also happens to be another college professor I had.  Her name is Paula Spencer.  Time and time again I have confided in her with the most important questions of life.  She is that person that knows the answer you are looking for but gives you the answer you need to hear.  She is my own personal Oprah.  She is loving, caring, supportive, and honest.   Still to this day I can text her and ask any question and she will respond.  It is because of her that I am on this adventure with Walden.  I asked her which online college I should attend and she suggested Walden.  The rest is history.  I am so blessed to have such a woman in my life that I can look up to and say I want to be just like her when I grow up.

About This Teacher

Hello and welcome!  This blog belongs to a mom, teacher, and a student.  When I was in my 20’s I had no clue how to get to where I wanted to be in life.  Having gone through a devastating divorce that included domestic violence so bad it forced me to become homeless with my sons.  I have reinvented myself into who I am today.  My boys are now 9 and 11.  They have gave me what I was missing.  With the skill I gained in becoming their mother, I found my motivation to pursue my dream, teaching.  They were there that day, cheering me on as I walked across the stage and received my Associates degree and a year later, my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood.  Now I teach preschool for the Great Start Readiness Program in Michigan.  I just remarried this summer in Key West FL, to a man that loves me and the boys and is our biggest supporter.  We live in Michigan where we enjoy hiking, biking, yoga, traveling and laughing.
